We are seeing this error message several times per day in our error log:
May 12 02:22:28 adns error Error in DNS response handler: /usr/lib/prosody/util/rfc6724.lua:132: bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table expected, got nil)
Sometimes just one appears in a day, sometimes many appear within several seconds.
We aren't using any special DNS infrastructure (such as unbound).

This is unfortunately not easy to figure out without the full traceback, but the error handling here does not log one.
Could you enable debug logs and send us logs leading up to the error?
