My routine when visiting a room log generated by mod_http_muc_log involves checking the "show/hide joins and leaves" and "show/hide status changes" checkboxes for most rooms. It would be great if I didn't have to do it every time, but instead if the setting would be remembered by the site. Ideally per room. That would save me a few daily klicks and probably a few hours of time yearly :)

mod_http_muc_log doesn't do this at all but you could do it with a theme.
I assume you meant the older mod_muc_log_http

Probably. Whatever logs.xmpp.org uses. It's a pity that the thing does not announce what it is and which version is used. Sounds like a case for a second feature request.
